 Citizens Jury ProjectInterested organizations have met with the LWV of Honolulu project committee to pursue the possibilities of conducting a citizens jury in Hawai'i. Town meetings and focus groups have been ways that Minneapolis-based Jefferson Center has developed its jury. Developed over the past 15 years, the process has involved citizens in public policy decisions. LWV of Honolulu hopes to obtain funding to simulate the project in Hawai'i where the state has had the lowest voter turnout in the last few years amongst the 50 states. League members who would like to be part of this "made for League" project are urged to contact the Honolulu office at 531-7448.
