1987/88 Budget Explanation DIRECT FUNDS are those to be spent by each League director in carrying out duties associated with their own particular program area. This can include purchase of publications, publishing, action coats (i.e., press releases, lobbying, testimony, workshops, publications) outside workshops or conferences, committee business. ALLOCATED FUNDS are fixed overhead costs anticipated by the treasurer which are totaled and divided among all program arena to reflect the emphasis to be placed on each program area during that budget period. By distributing overhead costs throughout all program areas, it is possible to show overhead expenses as a part of the cost of carrying out our goals of program, action, and citizen information and voter service. Budget Committee 1987 Sue Francis, Chair Judy Dolata Anne Lee Wendy Wong Vicki Zaleski LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF HAWAII ADOPTED BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 1986/87 AND PROPOSED BUDGET, FISCAL YEAR 1987/88 *Hawaii County's pledge has been reduced in recognition of membership and financial problems which they must be address in the coming year. Kausi's pledge has been returned to the same pledge level of 85/86. Note: Kauai's 86/87 pledge was reduced in recognition of serious membership and financial problems they were facing at that time. **Because of successful fund drives, we exceeded our anticipated income and carry this amount forward into the 87/88 proposed budget. This amount is over and above the minimum reserves which the League, as a non-profit organization, keeps to pay any costs associated with disbanding.
