City Funds

WHERE DOES THE MONEY COME FROM AND WHERE DOES IT GO?

What services are the residents of Honolulu receiving from the local, state, and national governments? What other funds are used to pay for these services? Does the City and County of Honolulu need more funds? Where should these funds come from? Should taxes be raised? Should residents pay for services through more user fees? Should Hawaii or Honolulu have a lottery? Should the counties get a share of the hotel room tax? Is the City and County using its money wisely?

Linda Smith, Director of Finance for the City and County of Honolulu will be the guest speaker at a meeting on Sources and Uses of City Funds on Saturday, November 14, 1987 at 9:30 a.m. in the LWV office, 49 S. Hotel St., Rm 314. She will discuss the present sources of Honolulu's funds and possible new sources of funding. Smith might also advance some ideas on how Honolulu could better use the funds it has.

Come and get the answers to the above questions. Put in your two cents worth--you are already putting in your tax dollars.
