Invites You To A One Day Seminar "RUNNING TO WIN" Saturday, November 7, 1987 University of Hawaii - Manoa Campus Center Ballroom Co-Sponsored by the Political Science Department University of Hawaii ![]() The Honorable Lieutenant Governor Benjamin Cayetano is to be the keynote speaker for League's ambitious "Running to Win" seminar being held at the University of Hawaii's Campus Center on Saturday, November 7, As the Chief Elections Officer of this State, with years of experience in both the House and Senate, Lieutenant Governor Cayetano will be able to set the tone of "Why I Ran and How I Did It", as well as the workshop topics of "Organizing Campaigns, Fund Raising, Finding Your Constituents and Developing An Image". Dr. Theodore Becker, Chairman of the Political Science Department of the University of Hawaii, who is also the author of the "Waging Peace Series" for the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation (a booklet on mediating the nuclear stalemate), and the co-author of "Teledemocracy Emergent: State of the American Art and Science" in which he details theory and data that supports the development of electronic democracy in the United States, will be speaking on initiative and referendum. Among our panelists are: Senator Malama Solomon, Representative Reb Bellinger, Councilman Gary Gill, Board of Education member Francis McMillen, former candidates Ed Case and David Rolf. Presenting the Political Parties will be: Joan Yim, Democrat, Brian Moore, Republican, and Blase Harris, Libertarian. Workshop notables include: Dr. Hubert Kimura, Wendy Miyashiro, Tom Okamura, Jo Kamae Byrne, Brian Yanagi, Barbara Sunderland Duran, Dean Masuno, Jim Loomis and Bob Sevey. YOU ARE THE WINNER
