Convention '85 Elections: Not Such a Trivial Pursuit The League of Women Voters of Hawaii's Convention '85, themed "Elections: Not Such A Trivial Pursuit", will be held on Sturday, May 18 at the Sheraton Waikiki. The convention, an opportunity for League delegates and other members to participate in the grassroots functions of the LWV, will include a workshop on fundraising, and former Lieutenant Governor Tom Gill will deliver the luncheon speech on "Hawaii's Election Laws". Exciting business sessions will deal with the LWVH budget, proposed programs for 1985-87, and election of officers. The fundraising workshop will be conducted by Thom Reece, President of Pacific Marketing Group, who is currently writing a book, "Fundraising By Mail" to be published in early 1986. A before-the-convention "potluck dinner" will also be held on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Caroline Ingersoll's home, 944 Waiholo St.. Those attending the potluck dinner will have a chance to see how much they really know about Hawaii's election laws during the LWVH's version of Trivial Pursuit. Winners will receive prizes. All League members are urged to come and participate in Convention '85. It is an exciting time to see old friends, make new ones, share information and take part in training. Registration cost is $25, which includes the luncheon and workbook. Validated parking is $1.50 for the entire day.
