Alert for August The Temporary Commission on Statewide Environmental Planning will have a statement of recommended goals and policies ready for public , consumption by !august 1st. Citizens should be encouraged to provide input at public hearings which start in mid-August. The TCEP is made up of the government officials and a few citizens, and includes representatives of major State departments, the State Legislature, County Councils, and County Planning Directors. Staff assistance is provided by the Office of Environmental Quality Control and by Frank Skrivanek, State Planning Coordinator, DPED (Dept. of Planning and Economic Development). The League's land use position calls on government to make policy decisions; we hope this effort is a first step.
