LWV-KC 30th Annual Meeting Saturday, April 29, 2000
The 30th annual meeting of the Kauai County LWV will he held Saturday, April 29, 2000, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wailua Marina Restaurant. Meeting of the new board of directors to immediately follow.
The League is pleased to have Beryl Blaich as keynote speaker at our 30th annual board meeting and luncheon. Blaich believes in citizen's organizations and their role in planning. Her speech will give insight into this topic: Citizen Participation as Collective Creativity, Beryl served on the Committee for Community Based Land Use Planning for five years, with the objective to get communities to initiate land use planning. During this time, she contributed much effort toward the planning handbook, "From the Ground Up". She has a Masters degree in Planning from UH Manoa and has been involved with local associations including but not limited to 1000 Friends; Concerned Citizens of Anini; Malama o Manoa and the Kilauea Neighborhood Association.
All are welcome to attend the presentation and annual League meeting, and the event is free. There will be a $15 charge for the buffet luncheon, which Wailua Marina Restaurant describes as plentiful with both vegetarian and meat choices. Price includes beverage, gratuity- and tax.
