General reference questions can be handled at the Hawaii State Library by calling 536-3621 or 5863622 on Oahu. If calling from the Neighbor Isles, dial 1-800-468-4644 and then 63621 or 63622. Toll free!

Service is available during the library's regular hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 9 am. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 am. to 8 p.m.

This service is dedicated to providing answers to telephoned reference questions within three minutes or the call is transferred to the subject librarian in the appropriate section.
