Members Approve Dues IncreaseIt is not a healthy business model when one sells an item for $35 but the product costs $41 to make. LWVHC doesn’t make widgets, but we collect $35 in member dues and pay Per-Member Payments (PMP’s) of $40.70 ($29.20 to National + $11.50 to Hawaii State). Our annual dues shortfalls were covered by donations and revenues from vote counts. Recognizing the value of League membership, the members approved increasing the dues from $35 to $45, effective immediately. Dues for students and second member in a household will be half of the full dues ($22.50). Our league will keep $4.30 ($2.15 for students, second householder) per member.
