Facilitators Wanted The County of Hawaii, Department of Research and Development Office is looking for LWV members (and other community members) who are willing to serve as facilitators during the Community Development Plan process. The Department of Research and Development has some funding to provide training in facilitation, strategic thinking, and mediation. The facilitators would work with the consultants on the "community input" part of the Community Development Plan process. This network of trained LWV facilitators can also be used after the CDP process to facilitate other community meetings around important issues. I think this is a great fit for the LWV - given our fabulous non-partisan reputation! The ideal facilitator would be a person who can be (in this setting) non-confrontational, flexible, neutral, and willing to travel outside their districts. The County will likely provide a reimbursement of about $25 for gas, per meeting.
