Voters Service Views

Now in preparation by the Voters Service Committee is a questionnaire to be sent out to all candidates for the Board of Supervisors. You can help in two ways. First, bring to the membership meeting the question that you consider the most pressing local issue at this time for inclusion in the questionnaire. (Please be specific). Second, any member who thinks she might be free this summer to help mimeograph and distribute the questionnaire should call Mrs. Smith (97-193) or Mrs. Menkes (25-6804).

Voters Service has also organized a committee under Mrs. Paul Miho to assist in registering voters for the fall elections. Eleven League members will be sworn in as Deputy Registrars to staff strategically placed booths during July and August. These registrars will also distribute the booklet, "Can You Vote?" which is being prepared by Mrs. Norman Meller and her committee.

On June 1, 1954, the Board of Supervisors again deferred for one week Rent Control Bill No. 27 which amends the previous bill and extends the date for expiration of rent control. Mr. Teves and Mr. Beamer voted against deferment.

The bid for the rent control survey was awarded to Edward Gallas, low bidder for $7,400.
