November Is Membership Month

Your Membership Committee has set a goal for itself and the League--a 100% INCREASE in membership this fiscal year. Of course, it's ambitious! But with the help of our members we think we can all together attain the goal.

Here's how: YOU-and-YOU-and-YOU-each have a friend or two, not a League member, but someone who is interested in good government, in responsible participation of all citizens in their government, and who has the same conviction which Leaguers have--that citizenship carries responsibilities with it, which should be understood and met.

Tell this friend, or several of them, for that matter, about our League, its purposes, and tell them too, that we need their help, their opinions, their backgrounds to make our League better--and bigger. Ask them to come to the Oct. 25th meeting with you. The members of the Committee will contact every friend whom you tell us about and ask them to become members.

WE WANT EVERY SINGLE LEAGUER TO TRY TO BRING IN AT LEAST ONE NEW MEMBER!

Come with your prospect or call any member of the committee and give her the name, address and phone number of the person you think will make the best League member you knows

To strengthen our League, to better carry out its purposes, we need new members. Housewives, business women, women of all races, are wanted in the Honolulu League of Women Voters. Our committee hopes for help and lots of it from our membership. The groundwork has been laid; the League has certain definite accomplishments at which members can point with pride. We are a going concern. POINT OUT THESE THINGS TO THE FINEST, MOST THOUGHTFUL WOMAN, NOT A MEMBER, WHOM YOU KNOW: BRING HER WITH YOU TO THE MEETING OR PHONE IN HER NAME*TO A COMMITTEE MEMBER. WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU!

Editor's P.S. Would any of you like to guess how many cards have been taken out of the mailing file for people who have gone to the mainland since the change of officers in April? Sorry, no awards being offered for correct answers--just bring a new member.
