Chair Keith Agaran, Vice-Chair Shimabukuro, and Committee Members:

The League of Women Voters of Hawaii supports SB242. which would allow electronic copies as an alternative to printed copies of a bill for a third or final reading to fulfill the 48-hour availability requirement for legislators.

It appears that this would save resources such as labor and stationery while making it easier to meet the 48-hour availability requirement. We think the public would understand and appreciate the intent of the measure.

Thank you for the opportunity to submit testimony.
