Kauai

The Kauai League, although small in number, sets a good example of what can be accomplished through joining with other like-minded groups. In coalition with Kauai's

1000 Friends and AAUW, they have effected changes in the general plan amendment process, and are now working on measures to make citizen input a permanent feature of the general plan amendment process.

Kauai Leaguers are excited about the announced candidacy of member JOANNE YUKIMURA for mayor of Kauai. Joanne came close in the last election; this year, she faces a number of veteran politicians for the job.
