Legislative Interviews: Volunteers Needed

It's that time again! Every two years LWV members meet with legislators to find out their views on selected League positions. The interviews are not lobbying but present a great opportunity to get acquainted with our legislators. This is not a time-consuming task. Interviewers will be given five questions along with background information. Two people will visit each legislator: One to interview; one to record.

The purpose of the interviews is to find out our legislators' stands on key League positions so that we can lobby most effectively during the next two legislative sessions. Whether you can help with one interview or several, your help is needed! A brief training session will be held for volunteers on November 29th as a part of the Honolulu lobbying workshop.

The deadline for completion of all legislator contacts is January 15th. Call now to arrange for meeting with the legislator of your choice - whether she or he represents your district, is an influential person in your special area of concern, or is just someone you would like to meet. We need your help. Please call Dorothy Marsh (941-2868), Joyce Miller (923-4519) or Barbara Dykes (235-0749) for more information or to volunteer.
