Candidates' ForumWith the decision of Mike McCartney not to run for another term in the State Senate District 23 - Kaneohe to Kahuku - the position is wide open. Reb Bellinger, Debi Hartman, Bob Nakata, and Terrance Tom are vying for the seat. The League and Pohai Nani will give them an opportunity to tell the public where they stand on issues that are of concern to them. A Candidate's forum will be held on Friday evening at the Pohai Nani auditorium between 7:00 to 8:30. Pohai Nani is located at 45090 Namoku Street. The auditorium will seat 200, and we expect to fill it. We are asking our members and the general public to provide us with questions to pose to the candidates. We will need these by Wednesday Sept 9. The audience will also be able to turn in questions during the forum. The forum will be in 3 segments. One, questions from the public & the League; two, candidates can question each other; and three, questions from the audience. We urge our Windward members to spread the word to your neighbors, family and friends to take this opportunity to see and hear these candidates before casting their votes on Sept. 19.
