National Women's History Month

In celebration of National Women's History Month in Hawaii, 1988, the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women is holding an Open House on Monday afternoon, March 7, 1988 at the Commission Office Room 253, 335 Merchant Street, from 3:30-6:30pm.

The Open House is in honor of Mary Ellen Swanton, who influenced the enactment of the law which established the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women. Her portrait, a gift of the Business and Professional Women's Manoa-Kai chapter will be on display and will be dedicated at this event. Mary Ellen's library has been donated to the Commission and this vast resource collection will also be on display for your perusal and use.
