Current LWV Honolulu ItemsA continuing item has been to observe governmental bodies such as the City Council and its committees and report back on issues of League concern, This is one method of keeping informed of potential needs for League action as well as to identify organizations and persons appropriate for future communications . Planning and Zoning - Promote member and public understanding of the planning process. Encourage early public participation. Transportation - Promote understanding of Oahu transportation needs and problems. Neighborhood Boards - Support contuation of a system ot strengthen resident participation in governmental processes, with improvements. Tax Study - Sources and uses of funds at the City/County level, including alternatives.
