New Council rules designed to give the public more opportunities to testify on agenda items are covered in Rule No. 31 which states that pursuant to State Law, any private citizen may speak at any Council or Committee meeting, subject only to the following:

Testimony by members of the public shall be limited to three minutes; however, by a vote of a majority of the members present, time may be ex-tended.

Our observers can watch to see if public response results.

League was asked to observe during the signature validation for the re-call effort. Marian Wilkins and Martha Black represented League; they were there continually. The 2 major parties also had observers present.

Kathy Albu prepared testimony for presentation before the Planning Commission on a bill for an ordinance to amend the CZC relating to agriculture districts.

The bill was withdrawn by DLU on the day of the hearing. Another bill will be drafted. League will reappear after analyzing the forthcoming bill.

Our files contain testimony given before the city. If you are interested in reading the exact words, come to the office between 9 and 11 a.m.
