January UNITS ate offering you a unique opportunity to meet with LWV "old timers" who are in the know about how government does (or doesn't) function. Do you know

- does grassroots participation really exist?

- how appointees are chosen and why?

- what are the functions of political boards?

- what are commissions?

To get the answers to these questions, this meeting is a must for you. Following the presentation you will have a chance to participate in a "planning commission" which will look at future League programs. Future study items will evolve from these discussions.

SPECIAL GUESTS: Leaguers who are now serving on government boards and commissions or other appointed capacities.
