Presidential Debates
Equal Time for Issues

The League of Women Voters has undertaken the project of sponsoring the first presidential debates in 16 years. How are we going to bring off this coup? With a petition drive.

Pressure is the name of the game pressure that makes it unmistakable clear that the American public expects the candidates to debate the issues face to face, before voters cast their ballots in November.

We hope to rally wide community support here in Honolulu for our petition drive. We plan to have August 27th 9 to 9 at Ala Moana Center - tourists and islanders can be reached here. With your support we would also like to have petition centers at Kahala and at •Pearl Ridge malls. Want to help? Call Terry Jasket, 734-4956 or say yes if someone calls you for help.

See your summer National VOTER for more details.
