Planning

We've been holding dialogues with City and County councilmen, planners, Commissioners, and corporation council, writing letters and making public appearances. The aim is that the League's objective of informed citizen participation and state position on housing and land use will be considered in action by the Administration, City Council, Planning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

We've appeared with Rosemary Barnhart on Hawaii Kai closed circuit TV and testified before the zoning Board of Appeals, the Planning Commission, and the City Council. We've written letters also to the newspapers and the City Council supporting the strengthening of county level planning and to the governor urging veto of legislation which would allow the state to supersede county zoning.

All new and old League members are invited to City Hall or City Hall Annex to observe:

City Council Tues. 2:00pm

Planning Comm. Weds. 1:30pm

Zoning Board of Appeals Thurs.2:00pm,

C/C Planning and Zoning Committee Fri. 9:00am

Call Adeline Schutz at 734-7248 in advance as there are changes in schedules and we may not always have an observer. Recently Dorothy Turnbull Mildred Walston, Marian Yatchmenoff have been enthusiastic about their observing experience.
