Two Conferences Scheduled

This month two conferences will be held which should be of special interest to many Leaguers.

Friday Nov. 7 - The State of Hawaii, Department of Health and the Volunteer Committee for Clean Air and Water is sponsoring a one-day conference on Water and Air Pollution. The $4.00 conference fee includes lunch at Washington Place. Reservations must be in Nov. 1, 1969. They may be sent (with check) to:

Monday Nov. 17 8:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. -The Outdoor Circle is sponsoring a conference on legislative persuasion (lobbying) by women's organizations at the Ala Moana Banquet Hall. "Workshop 70" is to encourage women to take part in the legislative process by attending sessions of the Legislature and public hearings of the committees.

The Outdoor Circle has invited the League of Women Voters and the AAUW to join them in this effort. All Leaguers are urged to attend since we are going to need a large corps of observers for the next session of the legislature.

The program is as follows:

8:30 - 9:00 Registration

9:00 - 10:00 Byron Baker Reports on the Legislature

10:00 - 10:15 Coffee Break

10:15 - 11:30 Panel Discussion:

"Lobbying by Women's Organizations: Past Accomplishments, Present Problems"
