Charter Commission

A number of City-County officials have attended the Charter Commission meetings during the past month. Representatives of the City Planning Commission, Board of Public Parks and Recreation, Department of Public Works, and Department of Public Instruction agreed that a capital budget planned for a five or six year period is needed for major improvements.

Mr. Frank Kaito of the Comptroller's office told the Commission the situation that there are 98 special funds and 290 separate accounting funds. The Commission was interested in knowing to what extent these might be combined, and it was Mr. Kaito's opinion that it was necessary to keep individual accounts for practically all of them.
