Progress toward a New City-County Jail The past month has been a busy one for the Local Resource Committee. The membership meeting of November 17th resulted in a request for the League to draw up proposals for further action, circulate them, and call another meeting. This has s been done, and on the 9th of December the group will meet for the second time. It is the hope of the League that a representative Community Committee for a New Jail will come out of this meeting. A letter was sent to the Mayor and Board of Supervisors requesting that the building of a new jail be a priority item in the next calendar year.
