Action in Territorial LegislatureThe Board has decided to request a further clarification from Nat'l on going to the Territorial Legislature on matters concerning only Honolulu. Such action would pertain to legislation which is directly related to items on the local League Program. Local Leagues in unorganized states are usually prohibited from going to the Legislature, as there is no State Board to supervise such activities. This policy is maintained in order to prevent conflicts between local Leagues and to safeguard the future building of a strong State League. Since National did permit the Honolulu League to take action in the 1951 Legislature on the Enabling Legislation for Charter Commission for the City and County of Honolulu, it felt that a general clarification would be in order at this time.
