General Election Statistics for 1996 & 1998
We do not have the statistics for the 1998 elections, but in 1996, the percentage of eligible voters in Hawaii who voted was slightly below 50%. The percentages for 1998 are somewhat skewed because the registration rolls are inflated because the poll books are not purged as often as before. 70,345 voters or 17% of those voting chose to cast absentee ballots in the 1998 elections.
