LWV-Hawaii Hired to Conduct Wiki-Wiki Voter Registration Drive

Throughout the state, leaguers were busy registering voters for the primary and general elections. The league was contracted by the State Office of Elections to operate voter registration stations in Hilo, Kona, Pearl City, Windward O'ahu, the State Capitol and Kauai County Building.

Leaguers were kept hopping as hundreds of voters used the opportunity to register to vote without having to leave their cars. According to State League Voter Service Chair Cira deCastillo, the program was a real win-win situation. "It's right in line with League's mission of getting out the vote, and the state could not have picked a more knowledgeable group of citizens to assist the community with the voting process."
