Honolulu League Co-Sponsors "Candidates in Focus"

The League of Women Voters of Honolulu and 'Olelo Community Television co-sponsored Candidates in Focus. The program offered candidates for elective office nine minutes of air time in both the primary and general elections.

The league conducted workshops to help candidates familiarize themselves with the uses of teleprompters as well as help with polishing-up their scripts and hints for effective rehearsing and use of time.

According to Voter Service Chair Arlene Ellis, "The workshops made a definitive impact on the candidates who participated, and the improvements in the presentations that resulted from the experience were appreciated by all."
