What We're Doing Around the StateKAUAI LOBBIES FOR GENERAL PLAN CHANGESAfter presenting a remarkably detailed and clearly written analysis of the Kauai County General Plan amendment process to its members, the Kauai League held a consensus meeting and came up with concrete suggestions for change. They'd like their General Plan to be relatively difficult to amend, with petitions for commercial developments considered separately from park and residential, with much public notices and environmental impact statements. A
unique suggestion is that a quorum of the county council must be present at every public hearing, and must attend throughout the hearing, or decisions are void!
