First call to the 1976 State Council - a meeting of minds for both personal and League development. Although each Local League may send 2 delegates, Council is an event for all League members. This year it will be held on May 22-23, Saturday and Sunday at the Kuilima Hotel at Laie, Oahu.

The theme of Council (above) focuses on WOMEN and the skills we need in any role we choose to play - housewife, politician, lawyer, teacher, grass roots organizer, paid or unpaid researcher, writer, administrator negotiator, social worker. Saturday's seminar will be devoted to:

  1. Identifying and discussing skills learned in League.

  2. Developing self-confidence and poise.

  3. Making conscious efforts to acquire positive communication techniques and to recognize constructive and destructive behavior.

Further details will be in the spring LEO HANA.

Registration fee will be $10.00. Travel equalization common fare for 3 local leagues is $57.00.

REIMBURSE Hawaii County - 2 delegates X $55 round-trip $53.00

*Kauai County - 2 delegates X $30 round-trip 4.00

Honolulu LWV - 2 delegates X no airfare 57.00 *OK Airlines flies 8 seat charters at a much lower rate from Kauai to Oahu.

1:30- 3:30 Seminars:

  1. "The Woman Syndrome"

  2. Leadership Behavior Patterns

  3. Marketable Skills

5:30-6:30 p.m. Open Bar

6:30-8:30 Dinner

9:00 Talk Story Time

Sunday, May 23

8:30-9:30 a.m. Small group discussions on incremental goals at personal and organizational levels.

9:30 a.m. Brunch and reports from discussion groups. Closing.

In addition State Board has rented Dee Lum's nearby beach house to provide lodgings free of charge for 12 people on a first come - first serve basis. Contact your local league president if you are interested.

I will need transportation from Honolulu Airport to the Kuilima Hotel.
