Energy - Elemental, but not Simple Test Your E.Q. (Energy Quotient) What Can We Do about the Energy Crisis? Human Resources - Too Much! Too Much! (Melvia Kawashima) Women Resources Congratulation to these League Women |
Human Resources - Too Much! Too Much!Over the summer, the Human Resources Committee, made up of Evelyn Oishi, Wendie Wong, Bernice Ishida, and Diane Komenaka of Hawaii Kai unit, Honolulu League, met to discuss and outline issues of concern where we felt League could best contribute constructive action. The inevitable and unenviable problem of too much information and where to begin forced us to compile a survey of all social service related programs in the state and their respective price tags, in order to comprehend the total overview of the area. County programs such as model cities, revenue sharing projects and community action projects were not included in our scope. The forthcoming SOCIAL SERVICES IN HAWAII - A PROFILE will describe the need, jurisdictions, locations, eligibility requirements, and appropriations. Issues of concern are focused on access of information, equitable geographic planning and service areas, and lack of integrated programs. Your local boards will be scheduling informational meetings on this topic soon. Melvia Kawashima |
