EthicsTwo senate bills passed the Senate and are now in the House Judiciary Committee. The first would exempt legislative reapportionment commission members and reapportionment advisory council members from ethics provisions. The Ethics Commission testified against this. The second bill provides that the governor appoint ethics commissioners with Senate approval. The commission members are presently q2pointed by the governor from a panel nominated by the judicial council.
