Hawaii Constitutional Amendments Overlooked by National Organization
A Press Release issued November 8, 1968 by the Citizens Conference on State Legislatures, announced that Florida
had adopted a new constitution, and that seven other states had passed constitutional amendments to increase the effectiveness of their legislatures. Hawaii was NOT included among the seven states listed (Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Utah). Hawaii voted on 23 amendments and passed 22. Iowa passed three, Utah two, and the rest one each.
The Citizens Conference on State Legislatures is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization which furnishes information and otherwise assists business, labor and civic groups working to improve effectiveness of state government.
