Sunshine Week The League of Women Voters of Hawaii has received a $1000 Pass-through grant to assist with panel discussions during Sunshine Week 2006 (March 12-18). Hawaii County League will receive $250.00 of this money. Here is a link for members to inform themselves about Sunshine Week: www.sunshineweek.org. As most members know, the Sunshine Laws cover the activities of the Hawaii County Council at this point. Some members find the Sunshine Law onerous; we feel it is necessary. Openness and accountability in government are central concerns of the League. I will have more to say about Sunshine Week event planning at the January 14th meeting. Marianna Scheffer
