Annual Meeting 1999 President's Message (Grace Furukawa) Ballot Recount (Arlene Ellis) League Sues the City (Astrid Monson) League Honors Marion Saunders during Women's History Month Brown Bag Seminars Membership |
Ballot RecountForty six. members and friends of League participated in the Ballot Prep Team of the Office of State Elections for the State's recount of the 1998 General Election ballots. The schedule for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, March 6 to 8 was from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the first two days, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the last. Fortunately for those who worked all three days, the work was completed within eight hours on the last day. It is always a joy to work with League volunteers, whatever the task. There is never a lack of enthusiasm among the members, however mundane or trying the work may be. When League takes on a job, it is truly committed to producing the best results possible as efficiently as possible. Often during the three days labor, League ballot preppers got ahead of the State Inspection Teams who checked the ballot lots for proper Counties and precincts and readied them for prepping-and our plea was "more, please". Our sincere thanks go to all of you who gave your time, your energy, your enthusiasm and your commitment. They are:
If we have missed anyone, it is not intentional. Arlene Ellis |
