Public Forum on GamblingTom Grey, the Executive Director, full-time organizer and spokesperson for the National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling (NCALG) will be featured in a Public Forum on Gambling on December 6, at the Mabel Smythe Auditorium. Grey became active in the anti-gambling movement when a riverboat casino was docked in his home town. Since October 1992, Grey has worked full time to stop the expansion of legalized gambling -- and in dozens of states, he has helped turn the tide against the gambling industry.. Over the past year or so, Grey has been profiled on CBS' 60 Minutes, PBS's Frontline, Time Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Chicago Tribune. Grey has been hailed "Prophet of the Year" (by the Tribune), compared to Hitler (by the consultant for riverboat casinos) and called "Riverboat Rambo" by just about everyone else. Other speaking events are being planned for Tom Grey on Oahu and on the Neighbor Islands.
