Alana Bowman
Alana has worked in the field of domestic violence since 1971. She is currently serving on the National Advisory Council for implementation of the Violence Against Women Act., a federal effort spearheaded by U.S. Attorney General, Janet Reno. Bowman is national advisor on policies and legislation that increase protections for battered women, and a board member of the California Alliance Against Domestic Violence, California League of Women Prosecutors, and the Southern California Coalition for Battered Women. She is also a member of the Women Lawyers of California, Lawyers for Human Rights, the March of Dimes Advisory Committee for the Prevention of Battering during Pregnancy. Her recent publications include Domestic ViolenceCriminal Prosecution, California District Attorneys Association and a Family Law Reference Book. Ms. Bowman has spoken at numerous conferences and trainings throughout the country including at the Honolulu League's membership meeting on violence last year.
