Leaguer Elected to Serve on Violence Prevention Board
In early June Leaguer Nadine Onodera attended the Harvard School of Public Health Forum for Violence Prevention held in Chicago. Sara Brady was present, and she had high praise for the efforts and accomplishments of the Hawai'i Firearms Control Coalition and Nadine. She informed those present that Hawai'i currently has the strongest gun control laws in the country. Nadine was selected to be a coordinator for a nation-wide Silent March to be held at the end of September. She was also elected to be on the National Violence Prevention Coalition Advisory Board, which means that she will be attending quarterly meetings on the mainland and will help set national policy. Many states showed interest in the Hawai'i Firearms Control Coalition as they are in the process of formulating their own plans.
