Vote Counts BeginThe season for annual elections of officers and directors have begun for the various organizations for whom the League conducts elections. This activity is a public service we render to those organizations who require an impartial third party of unimpeachable integrity who can preserve the secrecy of the ballot, who is fair and impartial, and who is knowledgeable and professional in the conduct of elections. We charge a stipend for the time we spend conducting these elections, and use the income to further the work of the league in encouraging the informed participation of citizens in the government process. The League counts on the members who volunteer their time for two, four, and sometimes over eight hours per day. Some of the elections are held on-site at the offices of the various organizations, while some are serviced at our office. This activity provides an opportunity for those members who cannot commit themselves to long periods of time in studies and other League activities, to participate in a limited, one-time event that provides a necessary service to the community while helping us to raise funds to further our work. The following three vote counts are scheduled for February, march and April. We encourage you to try to fit into one of our time slots. Call the office for details of each. We can split the days into mornings and/or afternoons. No experience is necessary for this activity. We train on the job.
