Managing Solid Waste Community Education ProjectWORKSHOPS OFFERED BY LWVUSEF During 1994, the LWVEF will continue its work on municipal sold waste management. The LWVEF will be hosting a train-the-trainers workshop or 40 people and awarding ten grants of up to $2,500 to local and state Leagues. These grants will enable the ten Leagues to conduct citizen education projects in their communities on solid waste management issues, especially on source reduction and recycling, with an emphasis on plastics. This workshop will be held in March 1994, with final date and location to be set. Approximately 20 partial and 20 full travel scholarships are available nation-wide. The other requirements and terms are the same as for the nuclear waste project workshop. Anyone interested in applying for this workshop should contact the Honolulu League office.
