Local 5 Vote CountMark your calendar for Saturday, January 4, 1992, 8am to 5pm or until we finish tallying all the votes in the Local 5 Election of Officers. The Vote Count will be held at the Waikiki Community Center located at 310 Paoakalani St. Bus riders can get to the site by taking number #2 or #8, or any bus that runs on Kuhio Ave. For those driving there is parking on site or in the adjacent school parking lot. This is a very large Vote Count (12,000 members) involving a very complicated ballot. We need 40 or 50 persons to do a variety of jobs. Alphabetizing envelopes, checking names off the roster, removing ballot envelopes from return envelopes, removing ballots from ballot envelopes, stacking and banding ballots into groups of 50, numbering ballots, tallying, etc. There is a job for each of you -- whether you can see well or not, whether you have a short attention span and get easily bored, whether you need to stop every so often for a tobacco break, whether you can't sit, whether you can't stand -- we can utilize all of you. Only those with two broken arms need not volunteer. The Union promises us a continental breakfast, a salad and sandwich buffet for lunch, and dinner if we are still working by that time. Call the League office 531-7448 or 537-65267 today. If you have an idle spouse or friend, bring him or her along. No one will be turned away.
