Letters from Leaguers - 2(Excerpts) Dear Leaguers All, I think of you often and of course miss you and all the friendship of the past 19 years, since my joining in '72. I joined Seattle League earlier this month, and attended a couple of unit meetings before that. I know I will miss the relaxed pace of Honolulu League. They have 14 units here, 4 vice-presidents besides the usual president, secretary and treasurer, 14 other members on the board, and a total of 14 active committees. Every month they work over a different subject. So far I have sat in on Evaluating the Schools and Keeping the Green. Drug Abuse & the Community, comes up this month. I am very happy with my apartment and the convenience of everything close at hand. And best of all, it is great to be so close to my daughter again after about 20 years with 2,500 miles of ocean between. So although I am very lonesome for all the great people and the great weather I left behind in Honolulu, I still think the move was all for the best. Best of everything to all the Honolulu League and I would love to hear from anyone who has the urge to write. Sincerely, Mildred Walston |
