Board NotesMEMBERSHIP Membership has reached 278 as of the 21st of January including 23 LWV-US members. New member orientation meetings are scheduled for February 25 at 4:30pm to 6:30pm and February 27 at 9:30am to 11:30a.m. at the League office. All members and the Board are welcome to attend. CHANNEL 20 The January 20 taping of John DeSoto and Randall Iwase will be moderated by Anita Chariw-Farrow. Council members Bornhorst and Kahanu are scheduled for February 26. VOTE COUNT The maximum coordinator's fee was raised from $500 to $1000. CONSENSUS REPORTS The report of the consensus reached on MEETING BASIC HUMAN NEEDS was approved by the Board and forwarded to National. There was no consensus on whether we should have a HAWAII PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY, but consensus was reached on the question of NON PARTISAN PRIMARY ELECTIONS FOR BOE. Both have been forwarded to State. STATE LICENSING EXAMS Earle Koyama of the Licensing dept of Commerce & Consumer Affairs requested help in monitoring Dental Board exams. It was agreed that Honolulu would do it if State was not able to do so. HONOLULU'S BIRTHDAY PARTY League will celebrate the 40th anniversary on February 20 at Joyce Esposito's house on Mott Smith Drive. NOMINATING COMMITTEE The Board approved the following persons for the nominating committee: Dorothy Murdock, chair, Helen Griffin, Evelyn Bender, Nadine Taylor, and Bertha Kon. The nominating committee report will be ready and sent out to the membership on or before March 16. BUDGET COMMITTEE The Board approved the following members for the Budget committee: Barrie Trebor-MacConnell, chair, Nadine Taylor, JoAnna Nakata, Mary Frances Sutphen, and Yvonne Kearns. The proposed Budget will be ready and sent out to the membership on or before March 16. ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 16. Time and location will be determined later. ANNUAL MEETING BOOKLET Nominating committee report, Budget, 1988 Program, and all committee reports are to be submitted by early March to give the Annual Meeting Booklet committee time to prepare the booklet. SAN MATEO COUNTY PROPOSAL The Board recommended supporting the Resolution proposed by the San Mateo County for action at the National Convention.
