![]() President's MessageKaiser Development Company has subpoenaed 53 registered voters who signed the Sandy Beach Initiative petition last summer, requiring them to undergo questioning during depositions this month to explain how and why they signed the petition, or risk possible court action. Among those subpoenaed was a member of this League. We are greatly concerned about the potential intimidation to the petitioners and question whether this method being used by Kaiser might not be an infringement of these citizen's individual rights. The impact of this action may be to discourage people from exercising their rights of citizenship. Arlene Ellis |
