Voter Registration

Eleven league members became deputy voter registrars in September. They are participating in the office of the lieutenant governor's "adopt a school" drive aimed at registering eligible 18 year olds.

The League's goals however, include more. They are to increase the number of overall registered voters and increase voter turnout at the polls. In 1986, for example, 82% of the 419,794 people registered actually voted in the General election.
