Choices in Education - Oct. 4th Honolulu members were joined by community participants in discussing education. The first of two League events on this timely subject, students and adults both got a chance to look at "Islands of Excellence" in Hawaii. U. S. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, in a telegram to League, noted with pleasure the presence of participants from the public high schools. He referred to the public school system -- "as institutions of learning with close ties to our communities, dedicated personnel, and educational resources tailored to meet the needs of our islands' students." League echoes that goal.
