Thank You LWVDear Ms. Lee, I enclose a personal check for $25.00 to show the appreciation of our family for the program you put on last night on Hawaii Public Television. It was announced as a "debate" among the Democratic Party candidates for Governor, up for election in the Primary. Although it was not a debate, we understood perfectly that it was intended by the LWV to bring the candidates before the voters, at a single sitting wherein they could be best compared as to their personalities, their views on the issues, their intentions as to how to govern and how they relate to the general public whom they aspire to serve. The format you adopted served that purpose well. Until that last explosive, but piquant, jibe by Mr. Hodges -- a dash of Tabasco Sauce, if you will! -- the dignity and decorum of the meeting was manifest and a credit to the LWV and to all Hawaii.
