[Hui 'O Wahine]Marilyn Bowman represented League at a recent meeting entitled Hui 'O Wahine. Coordinated by the Federally Employed Women and the Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women, the end result will be the submission of resolutions for the Non-Governmental and Official Conferences marking the "End of the Decade for Women" A statewide conference for women is being planned also. Resolutions address needs for resources and opportunities for women, promotion of a strong international net-work for women and towards the United State's adoption of the "Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women." Marion Saunders was presented with a lovely koa box as a token for being honored as the recipient of the YWCA-Community Outstanding Achievement Award in Community Service. Being a founding member of LWV of Honolulu is only one reason that Marion was chosen by community members to receive this award. She is well known as "a champion of women's rights" according to the Honolulu Advertiser. The University knows her as a co-organizer of the Continuing Ed. for Women program; the East-West Center is familiar with her work in the International Alumni Association. We all congratulate her!
