Participate in Neighborhood Board Consensus MeetingsCommittee chair Nancy Marker urges, as the LWV Neighborhood Board Study Committee prepares for consensus with the publication of information this month and the scheduling of two consensus meetings in April... check the LWV calendar on page 8. Completion of this study, begun in July 1983, coincides with recent controversies regarding Neighborhood Commission staffing and a City Council bill which would move the Boards from the Managing Director's jurisdiction to the City Clerk's office, and provide civil service status for all except the Executive Secretary's position which is a mayoral appointment. Information to help you prepare for consensus will be mailed out to all members in mid-or-late March. Please review them and plan to attend one of the meetings. Participation helps us take action!
